ABOUT JOELLE STEELE AND WRITING WRITE AWAY
Joelle started out as an illustrator and copywriter for an advertising agency; had her first of 700+ articles published in 1973, her first of 32 books in 1974; worked as a creative director for a book publisher for three years; worked as an interior designer and landscape designer for five years; started her own business as a freelance writer/editor and artist/designer; and ultimately became a publisher of books, periodicals, and Web sites -- the last 16 years online. She began teaching adult education in southern California in 1983 and continues to teach art, writing, publishing, and Web site development through extended education programs at colleges throughout the South Puget Sound. She currently provides consulting, design, and editorial services to publishers, ad agencies, and Web site owners in the greater Olympia, Tacoma, and Seattle areas, and worldwide. Joelle has a Bachelor's Degree in Language Arts (a double major in English and Linguistics), a Vocational Certificate in Interior Design/Space Planning, a Vocational Certificate in Ornamental Horticulture, and eight years of private art instruction. Among her acknowledgments and certificates are: Who's Who Historical Society, American Biographical Institute's 2000 Notable Women, Professional Web Site Administrator Course, FrontPage Internet Administration Course, Professional Publishing Expert, Advanced Desktop Publishing, Chromatology Exam II, Photo Editing Proficiency, Color Professional Short Course, and Adobe Advanced Photoshop Course. |
